The Appeal of Song

By Anne Durrel

Music is all over the place in our earth, as well as rather often you do not realize how prevalent it is in your every day living. You attend to music on your radio, on television in the TV show that you are looking, in mobile phone rings, music is truly all over the place. But it is not just music that you keep in mind. Usually, you tend to keep in mind a special song once you have heard it.

A song is a composition of musical notes that create a specific tune. Typically, a song is created in a particular format like "ABA". In an ABA song, you will have one melodic section that is followed by a different melodic section, and then the last section would be a duplicate of the first section of the song.

base on the technique of song that you are hear, the format could be reordered around. Additionally, fairly often a song shall have lyrics to it. Lyrics are the speech to the song, plus they will often let know the story of the song.

In many cases, these lyrics might rhyme, but they do not have to. Lyrics can be sung or spoken depending on the composer's intent. There are many different styles of songs. A composer can set the style of the song by the rhythms that they create and the melodic structure that they choose to use.

For example, if the composer wants to create a very spooky song then they may choose to write their song in a minor key and to include specific instances of melodic dissonance (discord) to create an uncomfortable feeling in the listener's ear.
